In fact, all postwar European-made PP series pistols manufactured until 1986 were manufactured by Manurhin, even though the pistol slide may bear the markings of the Walther factory in Ulm. There may not even be any original parts left other than the serial number itself. Barrel, frame, slide would have all been replaced as the characteristics don't match a 50s era P1. So this gun he says likely went through a number of reworks and upgrades at the arsenal. Basically, the serial number on my P1 is dated back to the 50s. If you have any trouble locating the serial number for any reason, you can bring the gun into your local gun shop for help.
